About

Michael Buttrey is a doctoral candidate in Christian Ethics at Regis College, part of the Toronto School of Theology in the University of Toronto. His research focuses on virtue ethics, biomedical ethics, disability studies, and clergy-perpetuated sexual abuse.

Michael works as Theologian-in-Residence for St. Clement’s Church in Toronto and a Program Secretary for the Canadian Council of Churches. In 2022 he and Carolyn Mackie co-founded #ACCtoo, an advocacy group for survivors of sexual violence in the Anglican Church of Canada.
